Education and Training
Maya Walkington-Stauber began her nursing career with a diploma from the Red Cross School of Nursing in Bern, Switzerland. She then received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts in Nursing from the College of St. Catherine.

Experience 
Maya has been practicing as a geriatric nurse practitioner (G.N.P.) for many years and has been with Fairview Partners since May 1996. She works in both the long term care and transitional care settings. She has also worked in clinical education for nursing staff and the elderly in the community and is a clinical instructor to G.N.P. students. Maya currently provides care at Augustana Health Care Center of Apple Valley and Ebenezer Ridges Care Center. She has been providing care at these two facilities since February 1998.

Licensure and Certifications
Maya is certified as a geriatric nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Professional Associations 
Maya is a member of the American College of Nurse Practitioners and the American Medical Director Association (AMDA).

Personal Interests
In her free time, Maya enjoys gardening, reading, photography and spending time with her husband and cats.
